Voluntary Community Project Trips

The voluntary community project trips enables you to interact with the local different cultures where you get to live in the native African villages as you volunteer to help the native people go about their community based projects that is meant to improve the their life's and wildlife conservation. Depending on what is your profession, you will be required to participate in the community projects where you will learn their way of life and in return you will use your skill to help the local improve their life. You also get to experience African wildlife in a peaceful atmosphere.

During this trips there are time you will break off to visit the nearest National park within where you are or you may even visit the national park first if the national parks are on the route to the location where you be stationed . The following are some of the activities that you MAY enjoy during the weekends with the locals where you will be stationed but will depends with the itinerary that you will take. Please note some of these activities are seasonal.

Visits to the Markets During the Markets Day
Market days can be any day but each regions has it's own day of market but the most popular days are the Sunday markets that are normally the most colorful days as different people of all ages come to the Market to sell their wares ranging from the native vegetables , domesticated animals, wild honey ,fish, clothes, and all that can be sold.

Visits to the National Parks
Visit to the national parks to the nearest National park / Game reserves will take place in between your staying but this can also take place before or after your voluntary work. It will depends with itinerary you will take . In some of the itineraries you will be visiting eth parks for 3 to 4 days during your break-off from your voluntary work.

Participation in Traditional Ceremonies
African Traditional ceremonies these are special occasions where friends and relatives are invited to attend special occasion such as:
• Circumcision rituals ( only for boys ).
• Traditional marriage

Mountain Hiking/Forests
This is mainly meant for the sightseeing to the nearest Mountain. This can be a two days camping trip or even a day trip. Please hiking is limited to a day or two days. This will also depends with your locations. In this kind of excursion you will be accompanied by experienced elder guide will help you to learn more about African herbs / medicinal plants.

African Home
You will also have a chance on now and then to join African home where you will stay for atleast 2 nights and you either live on your own or live with family as long as you want. In some of the homes life will be quite basic no electricity, use firewood to cook Choice if yours you want to be on your own- ( this are rural guest house with electricity and bath rooms with hot water ) or live with the family. Please note you can only stay with families that we Have chosen for you.
