Bird Watching Safari

This a special itinerary that is meant for the bird lovers / watcher and it covers some of the locations that are rarely visited by other operators. The itinerary covers the major birds location and we also include new area which are not even known to other operators.

Day 1 – Nairobi, Panafric Hotel
When you arrive in Nairobi you will be met by African Brayogo Safaris Representative and be transferred to Panafric Hotel for overnight.

Day 2 - Nairobi/Museum/Birds Fossils
We visit the museum for bird talk in connection with birds collection and the fossils that have been found in East Africa. In the afternoon we have city tour to Karen Blixen home where we have lunch and wind up our city tour by visiting the giraffe centre. Dinner and overnight PanafricHotel.

Day 3 - Mt. Kenya National Park
You meet our bird Specialist Mr. Peter Oliver who will brief you and be your guide through out the trip. At 0830 Hrs we leave in our Land cruiser to drive to Mt Kenya National park arriving in the late morning. We check in at Mountain lodge and in the afternoon we have the bird walk in the Mt Kenya forests to return in the late evening. You enjoy the wildlife that comes to the lodge's water hole. Dinner and overnight Mountain Serena lodge.

Day 4 and 5 - Camping in Rogongo Forests
After breakfast we leave at 0830 Hrs down to Great Rift Valley to spend in Rogongo Forests, a very peaceful spot for birds watchers. After a very fascinating drive to Subukia Valley, we arrive at our campsite in the forest by lunch time. Siesta after lunch and at 1630 Hrs leave for an extended bird walk in the forest where also get to see other forest wildlife such as Columbus monkeys & Sykes. We return back to the camp by 0830 hrs escorted by armed Rangers. We spend the 2 nights at our forest campsite option Kunste Hotel .

Day 6 and 7 - Lake Nakuru National Park (Lion Hill Sarova Lodge)
After the bush breakfast we leave to drive Lake Nakuru National park , the home for the millions greater and lesser flamingoes. Over 350 birds species are found in this park. We arrive by late morning , short game viewing to lunch time, have lunch at Lion Hill Sarova lodge and thereafter we leave at 1600Hrs for bird walk at the shore of the lake. We return back to the lodge by 1830 Hrs. Dinner and overnight Lion Hills Sarova lodge

Day 7 - Lake Nakuru National Park (Lion Hill Sarova Lodge)
After breakfast we leave with picnic lunch for uninterrupted birding session for a whole day. We drive in the entire lake to return to the lodge by 1830 Hrs. Dinner and overnight Lion Hills Sarova lodge.

Day 8 and 9 - Kakamega Forest
After breakfast we head off to Kakamega forest to spend two night arriving after a full day's scenic drive through beautiful and peaceful landscape. We spend two nights in Rondo Retreat as we enjoy the beautiful birds found in this forest such as the Great Blue Turacos & Hornbills. Dinner and overnight in Rondo Retreat

Day 10 and 11 - Masai Mara
We leave for an other long drive to Masai Mara arriving from the western. We spend two nights in Mara sarova exploring the this great wildlife paradise which is also part of the Great Serengeti ecosystem.

Day 13 and 14 - Masai Mara (Bird Watching)
After the breakfast we have a full day -birds watching / game viewing- in Masai mara towards the eastern side of Masai mara. Picnic lunch in the reserve, then fly in the afternoon flight to Tsavo west landing in Kilaguni Serena Safari lodge.

Day 14 - Ngulia Hills ( bird migrating route) in Tsavo West National Park
At 0615 Hrs we leave with picnic breakfast for an extended birding session to Ngulia Hills , a very popular spot for migrating birds some coming as far as from Europe and it is also known as an excellent spot where bird specialist come for data collection from the birds that have rings. We have lunch in Ngulia camp and there after have a bird walk in Ngulia Hills with an escort of KWS armed rangers. Dinner and overnight Kilaguni Serena lodge.

Day 15 - Ngulia Hills (bird's migrating route) in Tsavo West National Park
At 0630 Hrs we leave for an other bird watching session in Ngulia hills with picnic break fast. This session last to midday , break off for lunch in Ngulia lodge and thereafter continue with bird watching as we drive slowly towards Kilaguni Lodge arriving by 1830 Hrs.

Day 16 - Nairobi/Fly Home
At 0615 Hrs transfer to Chyulu Hills gate to have a guide Bird walk in Chyulu Hills National park for about two hours and return back to the lodge for breakfast. Enjoy the friendly lodge and after lunch we leave to Nairobi arriving late in the evening. Dinner at carnivore Restaurant and be transferred to the airport to Fly Home
